Shaker Fencing is the premier fencing school in Williamsburg, Virginia. We offer group and individual lessons for all ages and all skill levels from beginners through advanced.

Fencing

Mac Shaker has had 20+ years experience in the realm of World Class fencing. A two-time Olympian in Barcelona (1992) and Atlanta (1996), Coach Shaker has trained with the German National Olympic Team at the Olympic Center in Bonn, Germany, is a USFA (A) fencer and has won many honors over the years, including:

• 1st place, World Cup in Como, Italy, 1986
• 8th place, World Championship in Athens, Greece, 1988
• National Champion 1985, 1986, 1987, 1989, 1990, 1992, and 1995

Coaching

Coach Shaker has served as Division I intercollegiate head coach at James Madison University in Virginia and the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Over the course of his career, he has had the opportunity to work with Olympic level coaches from Italy, France, and Germany.

Coach Shaker has designed and conducted programs for beginning and advanced fencers. He has developed and led general and special physical fitness programs and instructed and coached teams in national and international competitions. Originally a left-handed fencer, Coach Shaker has also taught fencing lessons with both hands.

Mac Shaker is a nationally-rated referee in Foil, Epee, and Saber.
